For more than 30 years, Cesare’s Ristorante has been a cornerstone of the Chester community. Founded and lovingly operated by Cesare and Teresa Evola in the River’s Bend Shopping Center, the restaurant has long been a place where neighbors, friends, and families gather to share authentic Italian meals made with care.
Cesare’s story begins in Italy, where at just nine years old, Cesare Evola started his journey in his father’s restaurant, Lido Azzuro. That early foundation in hard work, hospitality, and Old World recipes carried with him across the years, eventually taking root here in Chester, Virginia. Alongside Teresa, Cesare built more than a restaurant — he built a local tradition.
Passing the Torch
After three decades of dedication, the Evolas made the heartfelt decision to entrust their restaurant to a new family. In 2022, they officially passed the torch to Miguel Pedraza, a respected local restaurateur already known for his commitment to food, family, and community.
The transition was far more than a business handoff — it was the blending of two families who share the same values. The Pedrazas worked side by side with the Evolas for months, ensuring a smooth and seamless changeover. As Teresa Evola shared, “The Pedrazas are hard-working, community-focused and the perfect stewards for Cesare’s Restaurant.”
